Polished

Posted by Julie Anne on 3:27 AM
For years, I have been into nail bitting. I really wanted to stop it but I really can't  I can't help but bite my nails every time I feel nervous. I was able to stop it for a few months last year because I've polished my nails. But eventually my bad habit got back after I've gone tired of applying nail polish every week or two.

Now I will again try to stop it. So I've polished my nails pink. :)

Now I Know

This person was included in 1 (3 motions per round, 2 of which will be vetoed) of the semifinals motions of this year's Lam-Ang Cup. I cannot remember the motion exactly because I did no copy it due to laziness (it is consistent for being the reason why I don't do lots of things). Well, our team knows nothing about him. Apparently most if not all of the other teams experienced the same problem as it was also vetoed by all of them.

So here's a short info about Abdelbaset al-Megrahi:

Abdelbaset Mohmed Ali al-Megrahi (Arabic: عبد الباسط محمد علي المقرحي‎, ʿAbd al-Bāsaṭ Muḥammad ʿAlī al-Maqraḥī; born 1 April 1952) is a Libyan citizen, alleged former intelligence officer, former head of security for Libyan Arab Airlines and former director of the Centre for Strategic Studies in Tripoli, the capital of Libya. On 31 January 2001, Megrahi was convicted, by a panel of three Scottish judges sitting in a special court at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands, of 270 counts of murder for the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on 21 December 1988 and was sentenced to life imprisonment. His co-accused, Lamin Khalifah Fhimah, was found not guilty and was acquitted.

Feeling better

Posted by Julie Anne on 2:37 AM
For the past days, I've done almost nothing due to dizziness. I was sleeping for almost the whole time but it did not make me feel any better.

Despite of dizziness, I took the SLU CEE last Sunday. It was okay even though the venue for the test is on the fifth floor of that building. But that's not all. You still have to go through lots of stairs before reaching that building. All of a sudden I've appreciated their Bakakeng campus (at least may elevator sila dun :D) and thought it was a good decision that I picked BSBA major in Financial Management. It is located in the said campus. Well, it is really what I like but I hesitated because of the campus (akala ko kasi dati dun lang ang torture sa pag-akyat sa stairs). Going back, I guess the test was better for me because there was no science subject in it. I also saw no log, sin, cos or other mind blowing things. Also, I find the proctors more approachable than those in UPCAT. Perhaps it is because they are psych students thus they can deal better with people unlike for some of those in UPCAT who seems kinda irritated and so mataray to the students. Well peace to them. :D Its just my honest observation.

But despite those things, I still prefer UP. I would really really be happy if I pass there.

Strawberry flavored

Posted by Julie Anne on 6:59 AM
For this day, we did almost nothing in school. Aside from rewriting a composition and checking some papers, all we did was talk, talk, and talk. And now instead of reviewing for 2 departmental tests tomorrow, here I am in front of the computer and doing other less important things. Well, earlier I was sitting comfortably while reading my reviewers. But eventually I got bored and thought I need a break. So here I am. But before I went in front of the computer, I went to the kitchen but I realized that I was not hungry. All of a sudden I saw 5 bottles of energy drink. Originally it was 6 but I drank one out of curiosity and I found out that it was strawberry flavored. So where did I get all these energy drinks? Well, it was part of the souvenir of one debate tournament we've joined. Don't bother ask what happened. It was so traumatic!!! (Imagine debating while the province is raised to storm signal no. 3) Going back, I saw that the expiration date of those drinks are on December of this year. What the?! What am I going to do with those energy drinks? Anyone would like to take them?

Now, I've realized that its getting late and I need to go back reviewing. Hope to get good grades tomorrow. :)

Sembreak's not about crying (I really hope so)

Posted by Julie Anne on 6:02 AM
Still a week before I go back to school but I'm already bored. Really weird. I've been waiting for the sembreak for quite sometime but now I'd rather want a school day wherein none or only few of our teachers entered our class.

For the past few days, I guess the only thing I've done everyday is cry. I don't know why but most of the times I'll think about something then suddenly burst into tears. Even listening to music can lead me to such. Too much emotional stress I guess. The bigger problem now is I don't know what problem am I really crying for.

I know, sembreak's not about crying. Actually it is to unload from stress. I don't want to think about anything right now anymore. And oh, I feel like bursting into tears again. NOOOOO!!!!

Perfect Woman

Posted by Julie Anne on 3:07 AM in ,
I'm not a fan of anime but I used to like some. 1 of which is Yamato Nadeshiko the Wallflower (actually my favorite). I really don't know why I like it nor can I remember when and why did I started watching it. But surely no regrets.

Sunako was a high school girl who was called ugly by the guy whom she confessed her love to. Because of this incident, she turned away from all forms of beauty. As a result, Sunako's aunt resorted to asking four handsome men to change Sunako. If they succeed, they can live in her mansion for free.

The four, Kyouhei, Takenaga, Ranmaru, and Yuki, tries their best to make Sunako a perfect woman but Sunako refuses. She prefers morbidity which is very obvious with the way her room looks. It is a dark room whose light mostly comes from the television where Sunako watches morbid movies. Also in her room are 4 skeleton dolls which she often talks to.

Sunako is afraid of beautiful and bright things/people which includes Kyouhei. This makes life hard for the four handsome men. They have to lie to Auntie (Sunako's aunt) about Sunako's condition. Things were going smoothly until one day, Auntie announced that she will hold a party where she will introduce her niece. This made Kyouhei and the rest of the boys resort to train Sunako personally. They thought that they have failed. But before that party ended, they have witnessed a perfect woman.

The day I got ?!*$%@ (uhmm I really dunno)

Posted by Julie Anne on 8:08 AM in
I woke up at 7 since we have no classes. My only reason for going to school is to submit a module and an envelope. Thanks to some of my classmates, my morning became livelier. We had bunch of good chit chats and good laughs. Well, it was really enjoying. After the stories, we've decided to go to a convenience store just across the street. It was refreshing. I had float (well, I've been craving for it for the past few days) and bought 2 instant noodles and 1 big pack of curls.

I got home for lunch. Afternoon came and it was such a bore. All of a sudden I realized that I was already singing songs like Voice Within, Through the Fire, Reflection and others (yes, I know I've placed in my previous blogs that I'm not musical so, uhhhmm you know). But on the positive side, I did something productive - I placed the speaker back at the computer (I've unplugged it weeks ago for our practice), then I've listened to songs to keep me awake. I realized it was already 3 so I ate one of the cup noodles I bought earlier (and yes I was aware: mainit yung weather kanina). After eating, I've browsed the newly uploaded pictures of this really cute and friendly guy (almost one month na kasi since I last saw him, ayos lang nag-usap naman kami that time ;) hahaha). Boredom was also the reason why I've changed my layout and advertised this blog to some pages. After that, I posted a new blog followed by another and now this one (halatadong walang magawa sa buhay XD). But before posting this, I cried a liter of tears because once again I've realized that I will really really miss high school (debating to be specific).

So that's my day. I'm hoping for a better one tomorrow.

Julie loves noodles

Posted by Julie Anne on 3:41 AM in

Noodle is a type of food made from dough, formed into thin ribbons, strips, curly-cues, waves, helices, pipes, tubes, strings and many more. The usual process of cooking noodles is by boiling it in  a mixture of oil and water. But the way of cooking may vary depending on the type of noodle it would be.

For the past days, I've been eating noodles everyday-from spaghetti to cup noodles and all the other noodles. I find it really delicious and filling. Am I addicted to it? I guess so. As I searched the internet about this, I've found lots of people like me. But after sometime I've found this comment saying that: "Whenever you crave for pasta, remind yourself of its ingredients. Now recall your childhood years when you were made to make mosaics and other arts and you get really annoyed by the paste. Noodles are made of flour and water, same as through with the paste."

This got me for a while, but hey! noodles are proven edible and they don't stick like paste. So whatever it is, I still love eating noodles. :)

I will miss High School

Posted by Julie Anne on 12:49 AM
Luckily, we have our sembreak (though we have lots of take home thingies). At least I will be getting extra hours of sleep and more time for computer and tv, not to mention the break from stress due to loads of quizzes, assignments and other requirements. So, am I happy? Partly. I just realized that since its already sembreak, only half of the school year is left... only a very little time for me to do the things I've used to do. And yeah, I still ain't happy about graduation.

So here are the things that I will miss after high school

1. Debate. As seen in my posts, debate has really been  a very big part of my high school life. It is where I've experienced to conquer my fear, to take a stand, to appreciate little things, and a lot of other things.

Semifinals match

Government whip speech

Argumentum Activity

Inter Pangasinan Seminar

The PNHS DebSoc

2. Kalokohan during debate. Of course!!!! (no need to explain why) hahaha

Pizza Hut

Sipaan moments at SM Baguio

Sige Tim gapang lang para maconvince si ma'am

What are they doing?!

"Pls... gusto naming gumala" hahaha

3. "Reviews" and sit-ins? (I wanna emphasize the question mark, hahahaha)

summer review

yum yum

?!

no comment

cute sana yung lights kung clear yung pic :

4. Random moments

At syempre makakalimutan ko ba naman to

Yes I know wrong grammar to (di naman ako may gawa eh hahaha, secret na lang kung saan to)

Lastly, Thank you sa mga taong pinagkunan ko ng pics

RH is HR

Posted by Julie Anne on 6:58 AM in
They say: The Reproductive Health Bill undermines the human rights it seeks to advance.
I say: It does not. It promotes human rights. As everyone knows choice and health care are human rights.
a. Choice. Through the help of the RHB, people have the choice to have safe sex. Indeed abstinence is a surefire to safe sex. But be human!!! Frankly, sex is inevitable specially in certain ages of one's life.
b. Health care. Through this bill, doctors are obliged to properly treat even those who have undergone illegal abortion. This thing has been misunderstood by many people. This only means that women who had undergone abortion would not be deprived of health care. But after being treated, they would SURELY face the consequences of their acts accordingly ( in short, abortion would not be legalized through the help of RHB). Going back to the main point of this paragraph, criminals are being treated, so why not these people. A true story shared by a nurse, a woman was rushed to the hospital because of bleeding. The doctors found out that she took something to abort the baby. Instead of treating her immediately, the doctors scolded her. After their sermons, the doctors treated her (raspa) without any anesthesia because according to them she is sinful. Now, for those who are against the RHB, can you imagine how painful is that? You go to the hospital to seek help but instead, you get scolded and not receive the proper treatment.

They say: Maternal health requires access to healthcare facilities and reproductive health education, not contrceptives
I say: Access to healthcare facilities and reproductive health education are very much in the RHB. Contraceptives, condoms are important.
a. Condoms. Through the use of condoms, the spread of STDs could be prevented. According to studies, pull out method is not really effective because of the pre ejaculation cum.
b. Contraceptives. Through the use of contraceptives, one can have choice to get pregnant or not. According to many women, the reason as to why they have many kids is because they have no choice. They are afraid that if they don't submit their selves, their husbands might look for another woman.  No, Contraception is not killing for it only prevents ovulation and makes it hard for the sperm to enter the uterus (source: http://womenshealth.about.com/od/thepill/f/howpillworks.htmhttp://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/0663.html) If this is killing, then, imrpison anyone who masturbates!!!

They say: It does not protect the rights of conscience of those that will be responsible for implementing new measures
I say: It does. No part of the bill says that there would be a corresponding punishment for doctors who would not recommend the use of condoms, contraceptives, pills or what not. Also, a part of the bill says that:
SEC. 17. Employers’ Responsibilities. - Employers shall respect the reproductive health rights of all their workers. Women shall not be discriminated against in the matter of hiring, regularization of employment status or selection for retrenchment.
All Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) shall provide for the free delivery by the employer of reasonable quantity of reproductive health care services, supplies and devices to all workers, more particularly women workers. In establishments or enterprises where there are no CBAs or where the employees are unorganized, the employer shall have the same obligation.
Also , the bill does not prohibit the parents from teaching their children about sex. It just wants to make sure that at the end of the day, every child knows something about sex. We should be aware that all parents have the guts and time to teach this to their children

They say: It violates freedom of expression
I say: It does not. The bill does not force anyone to use pills, etc. It respects the choice of the couple. No penalty shall be given to those who won't use it. It just wants to give option, to give choice to the Filipino citizen.

They say: Increase in contraceptive use leads to higher abortion rate.
I say: It does not. Using these things affect the egg cells and sperm cells. Then a bigger possibility that there would already be no baby formed (so, nothing would be aborted). Unlike if you have unprotected sex, there is a very big percent of a woman getting pregnant What many people refuse to see is that RHB seeks to prevent abortion by family planning.

They say: It fails to reaffirm the Philippines's protection of the unborn.
I say: Filipino law has long defended the right to life of all persons. But there is still no life in this case. The sperm and egg has not yet met (refer to earlier links and explanation).

They say: Recent reports says that family planning programs failed to meet the needs of the poorest population.
I say: I can't see the truth in this. Mind you, reports from different bodies have shown the need of poor people for contraceptives. Let me cite a documentary I've watched: It was all about a poor woman who confessed that she and her husband uses plastic as condom because they could not afford to buy condoms. But then those plastics are not effective so they still ended up having lots of children. But this people are still luckier for they know those things. Most of the poor people does not know that these things does not even exist.

They say: There has never been a direct link connecting high population with high poverty rates
I say: Let us analyze the situation. Take for example an average earning family. This family then has lets say 6 kids. Consider the current prices of the basic needs, the education of the children and all of the other needs, how can you say that the salaries of the parents are still sizable for the whole family. Don't you think that because of this the middle class family will become a poor family. Another point is that the aim of the RHB is not only to eliminate poverty but also to increase awareness, decrease mortality rate due to lack of healthcare and to prevent the spread of STDs. Mind you, there is a direct link between these things and the improvement  of the life of every Filipino.

Back to Basics

I don't really do decent self-introductions, so....

Hello, my name is Julie Anne. I am here and there called by my friends Julie while most of my relatives call me Anne. I am a fourth year high school student but I dunno if I'm happy about being one. I think I'm kinda weird- no, perhaps just unique because unlike most of the people who are in the same situation as I am, I don't feel any zest about graduation. I must admit that the ceremony is a very positive thing (and I am aware of that) but there are just some things which make me feel this way. Somehow I believe that I'll just get depressed because of it.

I was born and raised in Pangasinan but that does not mean that I'm fluent in the province's dialect. Well, this thing has been bothering me since yesterday since the story we are required to read for our Pantahanang Pagbasa is written in Pangasinan.

Despite of my shyness(?), I am a proud member of our school's debate society. I have already joined various seminars and tournaments (which gave me the chance of making lakwatsa in different places...hooray!).  Debating has become a very big part of my high school life even though at first I really had no plans of becoming a debater. Actually, my initial reason for joining is to get excused in class but I ended up being serious after quite sometime.

I spend most of my time watching news or surfing the net. After getting bored with these two activities, I usually end up cooking (but don't ever attempt to taste my masterpiece... I don't wanna be responsible for your stomachache!!!).

Someday I wanna be a lawyer or an economist but I hope by that time I've already forgotten the word laziness.
